Figure 5-43 Renal artery stenosis. In this case, a young woman had a blood pressure of 220/140 mm Hg and was referred for a magnetic resonance angiogram (MRA). The MRA showed an area of stenosis (arrow) of the left renal artery as well as a slightly smaller and poorly perfused left kidney. After balloon dilatation angioplasty, her pressure returned to normal almost immediately.
